The mission of Virent Broadcasting company is to provide quality instruction through electronic technologies and live presentations to all students thereby enabling them to attain the educational goals and the standards set forth by their individual states’ Departments of Education. And, to extend quality education, and training, to populations that are under-served or that require alternate venues or learning environments.
The purpose of Virent Broadcasting is to facilitate the continued creation and implementation of effective, high quality educational programs by providing "Living Historians" to students, school administrators and the general public, both locally and abroad, through multimedia interactive video distance learning technology, and live presentations, in areas such as: History, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts. This benefits students, teachers, administrators and parents. These presentations are appropriate for all levels of education.
The virtual reality presentations we do are appropriate for elementary, middle, junior high, and senior high school students, educators and parents. Overall, Virent can be characterized as an Interactive, Real Time, Video Conferencing, Educational and Entertainment company of "Virtual Enthusiasts" hence the name.
For many years, people have had to perform extensive research through libraries, periodicals and biographies to learn about American and World History. This was a tedious boring, and sometimes, expensive undertaking. As a result of the information they gathered, and the "coloration" of actual persons and events, could be misleading.
What if: Your Science class could talk with "Orville Wright" about how "lift" is achieved?
What if: Your Language Arts class could talk with "Samuel Clemens" or "Charles Dickens" about their writing techniques and how they came up with the stories that they wrote?
What if: Your American History class could talk with "Benjamin Franklin, or have a debate with Abraham Lincoln i.e. "The Lincoln - Douglas Debates, or to a "Revolutionary War Militiaman", or to an "American Frontier couple" about what life was like in the 1700's?
The conditions of the industry today are such that, a lot of programs are being made available to schools. However, there is virtually no "programming" to date, that allows a student to interact with historical personalities in the way that we do. We are up front and honest with you.
• YOU determine which of our presenters you want to talk to your school children.
• YOU decide whether you want them back.
• YOU decide if you are getting the quality that you are paying for.
• YOU control how we can best serve you.
• YOU provide input as to how we can improve our service to you and your students.
